President’s Message

Hi! My name is Stephanie Bonenberger and it is my great honor to serve as the president of the Junior League of Evansville. For 100 years, the Junior League of Evansville has held true to its mission of promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving our communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
The Junior League of Evansville has contributed to the community since 1926. JLE has given back to the community through its various signature projects including Wesselman Woods, the Koch Family Children’s Museum (formerly Hands on Discovery), Little Lambs and many more. Growing up in Evansville, I have very fond memories of trips to Hands on Discovery and Wesselman Woods and taking skating lessons at Swonder Ice Rink. JLE has affected the lives of many people throughout the Evansville community. Currently, the Junior League of Evansville is bringing affordable groceries to local neighborhoods in Evansville. This is a project driven completely by women leaders.
Empowering women is the core of the Junior League’s mission. JLE holds numerous training opportunities for our League members. We train women to be effective leaders with trainings on marketing, governance, community impact and leadership development. Each year, the Junior League of Evansville hosts one of our largest training opportunities, our annual Women’s Conference. The Conference aims to train women at all different stages in life. Each year we also take time to recognize and celebrate our Top 20 Women Leaders and our Woman of Empowerment Award Winner.
I am so excited to lead the Junior League of Evansville into its next century of Impact. The Leadership and Impact JLE has made the past 100 years has made a lasting change in the Evansville area. We encourage anyone that wants to be a part of our history to join as a member, community partner or donor.
